Unique Challenges:
Project design within an existing golf course required redesign of the course and close coordination with the Country Club. Drainage and utilities needed careful design to minimize impacts to the golf course. New home product described as “single family cluster home” required detailed home placement. Custom development standards were negotiated with the recently incorporated City of Elk Grove.

“The challenge was to design a project that complemented the golf course, not take away from it. The land plan by MacKay & Somps really made the project. All but 14 houses have frontage on the golf course. We worked closely with the golf course architect to ensure good design. Also, the low-profile roofs and limited 2-story homes, along with common areas instead of fenced yards, created an open feel throughout the project.”
