The cornerstone of the first Specific Plan processed by the City of San Jose, Silver Creek Valley Country Club consists of 1,550 prestigious estate homes and resort-style condominiums set within a recreational community featuring a country club, an 18-hole championship golf course, a swim and racquet center and natural open space areas on 1,525 acres. Over ten million cubic yards of earth were moved as part of the on-site work, and three miles of four-lane, divided arterial street was constructed off-site.

Unique Challenges:
MacKay & Somps played a lead role in assisting the client and the public agencies to develop practical and economically feasible engineering solutions to complex project issues such as environmental preservation, natural hillside grading design, drainage and erosion control, utility design and circulation. The project required a careful balance between governmental and technical requirements, economical solutions and the aesthetic vision for the project.
