Education & Experience We Seek
In all employment categories, we look for talented, energetic people with strong verbal and written communications skills. We value hard working employees with "can-do" attitudes.

Most of our engineers come from a civil engineering background.
College level engineering courses that are most applicable to our work are:
- Transportation Engineering
- Hydrology/HEC-RAS
- Hydraulics/Fluid Dynamics
- Water Resources
- Basic Surveying
- Environmental Engineering
- AutoCAD / Land Desktop (LDT)
- Engineering Economics

Planners
Our planners frequently have backgrounds in landscape architecture, urban planning or city and regional planning. We look for creative planners who like to stay abreast of current trends in the industry and can turn those ideas into practical designs. Understanding geometry is an important skill. Being able to use AutoCAD and Photoshop software is very valuable, but being able to draw without the use of a computer is still important. Strong communication skills are essential.
Surveyors
Our office surveyors often have technical education in geomatics and other survey curriculum. We have found that field experience with boundary surveys, control work and construction surveys is a tremendous asset for our office surveyors. Understanding the California Subdivision Map Act and the legalities of subdividing land is important. Our surveyors are strong in geometry, coordinate systems, and related mathematics. Other valuable skills include Global Positioning Systems, photogrammetry, title work, and the ability to read and write property descriptions.
Computer Technicians
We employ many people who come from a computer based background to support and assist with our projects. These people all are proficient with AutoCAD. Capabilities with the following software programs is valuable:
- Land Desktop (LDT)
- Civil 3D
- Photoshop
- GIS Database/ArcCAD
- HEC-HMS & HEC-RAS
- StormCAD
- SewerCAD
